Mission

Triage Wines began in 2000 with a dedication to bringing authentic expressions of the world's vineyards to the Pacific Northwest marketplace. We refer to authentic and real wine as handcrafted wine made with natural techniques conveying a sense of place. We emphasize the place of origin and the people growing and handling the grapes not SKUs and grand marketing schemes.

Our work parallels, and hopefully expands upon, other artisan and natural food movements such as Slow Foods and local farmers markets. We not only sell wine but also celebrate the wine lifestyle and the cultural and culinary traditions of wine regions around the world.

Such wines, by definition, are limited in production. We strive to educate our buyers about them, bring them to the market in good condition, and sell them at a reasonable price. We seek to provide consumers with value and variety and champion native and heirloom varietals. We want hard working wine growers to be properly rewarded. We want to run a successful business and also have fun. Honest, candid, straightforward exchanges guide our relationships with suppliers, customers, and employees. We base our businesses on the long-term development of a market for authentic wine in the U.S.

About Us

We serve licensed fine wine shops, gourmet and natural foods grocery stores, and fine dining restaurants in Washington and Oregon along the I-5 corridor from Bellingham, WA to Eugene, OR and areas such as the Kitsap Peninsula and the San Juan Islands in Washington and Hood River, Bend, and Ashland in Oregon. We also have will call customers from Eastern Washington and the coast.

Founded in Seattle in 2000 by co-owners Dieter Klippstein and Michael Rhodes the company has grown to have a staff of twenty five. Despite our growth we continue to focus on quality rather than quantity.

We feel privileged to work with a fantastic group of wine growers, wine makers, and importers. By working as a team we foster an atmosphere where everyone has a voice.

Our passion for wine and food drives a curiosity to constantly explore and educate ourselves and our customers.
